Alberta winters have the ability to come in with a vengeance. Last year we were lucky enough to not suffer through a horrible winter but there was still a lot of snowfall and cold temperatures.
Now it is that time of year again for all of us to start thinking about what we can do to be prepared for any sudden ‘cold snap’.
There are some golden rules that will help you stay warm and safe this winter:
- Think about the store cupboard items you might need and consider having tins or packets of soup and basics such as bread that can be frozen. Don’t forget other essentials such as light bulbs and toilet rolls and a small stock of cold and flu relief medication could prove useful.
- Plan ahead and test your heating before the winter really kicks in, and report any problems to our maintenance team!
- Check the windows and doors: make sure that all weather stripes are in tack to reduce heat loss during the cold months.
- Inspect your furnace filter
